Honey - Sponsor

Honey is our big and beautiful Painted Horse. She came to Ashburn's Animals in 2013 and is aged between 15 and 20 years old. Honey's most amazing feature about her is that she has Heterochromia Iridum, meaning she has two different colored eyes. She has one blue eye and one brown eye.
Honey is actually a special needs horse. She has a club foot, which usually develops in the womb or by injury. Our vet believes hers is from an injury. If she is without her front shoes, she becomes completely lame. In the winter Honey is also equipped with ice pads between the shoe and hoof to prevent buildup of ice in her hooves.
Honey routinely gets a good foot soak to keep her hooves nice & healthy. She is great at staying on her cross ties as long as she can have oodles of alfalfa pellets, carrots & hay.
