James is one of two steers that have become one of our most renowned cases. James and his herd-mates were abused and neglected as calves during the summer of 2019. In a case involving us, the ASPCA, and the Pennsylvania State Police, they were seized and brought here. Sadly, out of 5 calves, three made it within the first 2 weeks. Leroy, the third, passed away in the summer of 2020, most likely due to circumstances from the original neglection and abuse. Once emaciated, dehydrated, and overall in poor shape, James has made a full recovery and is doing well. Now weighing about 700 lbs, he LOVES people. He really likes to play with the volunteers when they enter the pasture. He would absolutely love to have a sponsor and get visitors at the farm!
