Petunia - Sponsor
Petunia is a coopworth sheep. Coopworth sheep are medium sized, dual-purpose, white faced sheep with an alert but quiet disposition.
Petunia came to Ashburn's in 2017. Her age is unknown but we estimate that she's an older girl. Before Petunia came to Ashburns she was unfortunately used for breeding. Eventually she was unable to continue to get pregnant and the company would usually euthanize them, but she was a favorite on the farm there so the team worked together to help her. From there, she became a permanent resident at Ashburn's Animals.
She is a pure pack animal and goes crazy if she's not with her sister sheep which includes 4 other sheep. She walks nicely on a leash. She get sheared once a year which is a great rotation for the weather. Her worst fear is dogs and unfortunately we do not know why.
Occasionally Petunia will attend public events with us, because who doesn't love some sheep!
Sponsoring an animal here at Ashburn's is a big deal, and we're happy that you're considering it. To sponsor an animal means to help it stay happy and healthy on its journey to finding a "fur"-ever home! Your sponsorship donation will go towards the animal's daily care including feed, housing (like bedding), treats and enrichment, as well as veterinary care.
In addition, you get to become that animal's best friend! With your sponsorship, you will recieve a certificate of sponsorship with the animal's picture and autograph, opportunities to meet and interact with the animal, and high priority when registering for events at the farm!
